Cemvita Unveils New Golden Hydrogen Fuel Program to Pilot New Production Process

The H2 coalition will launch a new surface biofabrication process.

A new H2 fuel coalition called the Gold Hydrogen program was recently launched, bringing together organizations working to support the production of this clean fuel at scale.

The project will also launch a new microbial gold hydrogen process, which was announced at the launch.

This joint industrial partnership aims to develop, test and commercialize gold-bearing hydrogen. Coalition members include Cemvita Factory, an innovator of low-carbon microbial solutions for the extraction, renewal and production of energy and mining resources. Also part of the EXP Coalition are Chart Industries Incl and The Center for Houston’s Future.

This designation of H2 is natural and is found deep within the Earth. The most common way to source this zero-emission fuel is usually to produce it through a variety of potential methods. This way, however, the resource is already there to be mined. The reason it hasn’t been obtained this way until now is that it was far too expensive to be commercially viable.

The coalition’s new underground biofabrication techniques could open up the golden hydrogen opportunity.

Cemvita is spearheading this new project, which offers the potential for clean and efficient zero-emission fuel extraction. If correct, it also offers the possibility of bringing thousands of depleted and abandoned oil and gas reservoirs to be remediated and revitalized across the country.

The extraction technique combines existing infrastructure with new microbiology technology. Combined, they can rapidly scale clean energy solutions while creating new revenue streams for heavy industry companies.
