Roseville, Michigan – Engine and drive system maker Dayco has added a new viscous shock absorber production line to its Manesar, India site.
The facility will supply utility vehicles, off-road vehicles and light OEMs across the world, according to a company statement from the Dec. 17.
Equipped with industry 4.0 and next-generation technologies, the line can manufacture viscous dampers with advanced laser welding systems, the company said,
The setup, he said, is designed to support technology “from large OEMs in reducing vehicle engine NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) and vehicle downtime.”
Dayco claims to be a leader in providing “rubber to viscous shocks with the best selection of materials and advanced technologies”.
The production of the new unit is intended to help Indian and global OEMs meet the industry’s desire to reduce CO2 emissions, Dayco said.
“Our viscous shocks provide superior efficiency and reliability for a wide range of engine applications up to 20 liters,” said Wouter Nijenhuis, executive vice president of OE sales and business development.
Dayco is a global supplier of motor drive systems for automotive, trucks, construction, agriculture and industrial applications. It also claims to be the world’s leading provider of system solutions for hybrid electric vehicles.
