First locally made tablets roll off the production line in Da Nang

DA NANG — The first locally manufactured Xelex tablets rolled off the production lines of Trung Nam’s Electronic Manufacturing Services in the Đà Nẵng IT park, just two months after the signing of an agreement for the production of 100,000 tablets between Trung Nam Group and Xelex Corporation.

The introduction of Da Nang-made tablets, which will offer online education programs to students, will trigger the operation of electronic production lines at five factories in the computer park in February and promise an estimated turnover of 5 000 billion from VNĐ (USA). 217 million dollars) for Đà Nẵng in 2022.

Deputy General Manager of Trung Nam Group, Nguyễn Ngọc Thảo, spoke at the presentation ceremony of the first tablets on February 7.

“We will commission the first two factories with 20 surface mount technology (SMT) lines, creating 2,000 jobs in March, while three more factories will be reserved to attract investment in electronics and telecommunications,” said said Thảo.

“The first manufacturing lines will help accelerate the digitalization process in Đà Nẵng with the ambition of making it a ‘smart city’ with digital economy and administration in the coming years,” he said.

Thảo added that the construction of the first phase of the 20 ha data center and R&D area, in partnership with Singapore’s Infracrowd Capital, will begin to complete the framework of Đà Nẵng’s IT park.

Last November, Trung Nam and Singapore’s Infracrowd Capital agreed to develop a green data center – the first-ever Tier 3 Plus standard – in Đà Nẵng’s $100 million IT estate.

The Đà Nẵng Information Technology Park – the third national centralized IT area and the first in central Việt Nam’s “Silicon Valley” – was designed with investments from the United States, South Korea, South, Japan, Taiwan and Singapore.

Trung Nam Group said it has completed the first phase of investment on 131 ha at Đà Nẵng IT Park with an investment of $47 million, while the second phase on an additional 210 ha will continue with an investment of $74 million. dollars.

Last year, the South Korean LG Electronics launched the construction of its R&D center – the second in Việt Nam – in Đà Nẵng.

So far, six industrial zones, high-tech park and computer park in Đà Nẵng have attracted 503 projects, including 130 FDI projects, with a total value of 1.85 billion dollars and 27.5 trillion of VNĐ ($1.2 billion).
