Momentum Manufacturing Group invests in a new aluminum extrusion production line to double production


GEORGETOWN, MA, April 18, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ — Momentum Manufacturing Group, a strategic metal fabrication partner, announced the completion of the first phase of capacity expansion for its aluminum extrusion division based in in NH, Vitex Extrusion. The initial investment of $13.5 million centered on the installation of a 2,920 ton 8-inch extrusion line manufactured by Italian group Presezzi Extrusion. The new extrusion line offers fully automated operation and will double annual production to 55 million pounds of custom aluminum profiles.

Construction is currently underway for phase two of the Extrusion Capacity Expansion Project, which will extend in-line automation to include rack movement, post-extrusion aging and packaging, and will add 35,000 square feet of manufacturing space.

“We are excited to begin production on the new extrusion line,” said Andrew Curland, president of Vitex Extrusion. “Demand for custom extruded profiles from new and existing customers has increased since the pandemic and the new line will help us meet that demand.”

The total investment of $23 million to expand and modernize its aluminum extrusion business is a key part of Momentum’s growth strategy to increase the use of automation and advanced technologies in all its metal fabrication sites. Currently, the company operates nine facilities with 24/7 fire suppression operations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont.
