New production line expansion increases manufacturing capacity at Rhino Products

Rhino Products, Europe’s leading manufacturer of van accessories, has expanded production capacity by adding two new lines at its modern Ellesmere Port facility. The new lines are dedicated to manufacturing the very popular SafeClamp ladder clamping system, adding to recently improved production capabilities across the company.

Rhino Products continually invests in its infrastructure and people to meet customer demand for its high quality commercial vehicle accessories. Recent upgrades include new manufacturing floors, offices and other facilities. As part of this, the company has also hired a number of new employees from the region.

Forming the latest round of investment, the addition of two new SafeClamp production lines doubled production from 500 to 1,000 pairs per day. The SafeClamp is a one-touch ladder clamping system, featuring a composite beam structure and stainless steel anchor hook. The device is five times faster than traditional screw-type scale clamps.

To support this increased manufacturing capacity, Rhino hired three new production staff from the region. The lines were built on a dedicated mezzanine and use LEAN principles, with shelving and continuous improvement strategies in place to maximize efficiency.

“When building Rhino House, we ensured that in addition to modern office and factory space, we left flexibility to facilitate our ambitious growth plans. This strategy has enabled us to respond quickly to the growing market demand for our van accessories ”, said Steve Egerton, CEO of the group.

In addition to the SafeClamp, all Rhino roof racks, bars, ladder handling systems, steps, pipe brackets and rear door ladders are manufactured at Rhino House. In addition, the modern plant facilities, which include two mezzanines, also include extensive shelving and storage space for goods. Overall, this ensures product availability in UK, Europe and other export markets to meet customer demand.

Beyond the workshop, Rhino House has a three-story office complex with modern amenities. With plenty of room for continued expansion, Rhino can confidently deliver on its exciting plans for future growth.

Rhino products include van roof racks, luggage racks, rear steps and ladder handling accessories for tradespersons and some of the largest named fleets in the world.

From humble beginnings less than 20 years ago to an international group of companies with two factories in the UK and three more locations in the Netherlands, Sweden and Poland. The group also includes the brand AVS Steps Ltd, one of the leading manufacturers of steps for ambulances and passenger vehicles.
